Our ATA Tigers Program provides children with a well-rounded education in Taekwondo, character education, life skills lessons, and safety skills.
Comprehensive Character Development Program
Oakmont Martial Arts is much more than just a punching and kicking school. Our character development program offers daily lessons, monthly projects, and several resources for parenting. Each month our lessons focus on a different theme, and class discussions encourage children to learn, share, and discover the meaning of the month’s theme. Past months have included lessons in goal setting, self-control, citizenship, empathy, and honesty, to name a few!
Life Skills Training
Help your children prepare for success in preschool, kindergarten, or first grade. Activities in Tiger classes are designed to promote the following important life skills lessons:
- Listening and following directions
- Learning to share and wait their turn
- Being a good sport
- Demonstrating focus
- Showing self-control
- Showing respect
- Showing a positive “black belt” attitude
Positive Role Models
Our dedicated team of instructors continually sets positive examples for children to follow. Instructors work hard to demonstrate a positive “black belt” attitude, to show perseverance, and to act with respect and courtesy. And it doesn’t stop there – our classes offer a reward program to encourage appropriate behavior. Tigers can earn a variety of stars for their good behavior in classes, at home, and in school.
Oakmont Martial Arts provides a safe environment for children to develop confidence and a strong self-esteem. Children practice basic escapes, learn to stand tall, yell loudly, and make eye contact.
A Positive Outlet for Energy
Kids love kicking and punching, and Tiger classes are filled with a variety of high-energy activities. Through martial arts training, you’ll see an improvement in your child’s coordination, gross motor skills, physical strength, and stamina. Because children progresses at their own rate, nobody is left “sitting on the bench”.
