Oakmont Martial Arts has an awesome variety of summer camps planned for 2017. All of our summer camp curriculum is designed to empower kids by helping them develop strong character traits and leadership skills. We’re certain that kids will have a ton of fun, and parents will be happy with the life lessons kids learn.
Spar Wars Saber Training: Students can train in the art of Light Saber Combat! Styles of combat are based on those described in the Star Wars™ Universe. As with other sport martial arts, students will learn foundation techniques, light saber forms, partner drills, and demonstrations. Camps are available for ages 5 and up. Check out photos from the Spar Wars Makashi camp in 2016!
XMA Training Camps: XMA Training Camps focus on presentation and performance with weapons and open-hand freestyle forms. This year’s weapons camps include Ssahng Jeol Bong (nunchucks), Ssahng Nat (kamas), and Jahng Bong (staff). All students will have the opportunity to work on creating a freestyle form (with or without weapons). The Level 3 Competition camp is intended for students who would like to compete in the 2017/18 tournament season in creative or extreme divisions. Camps are available for ages 7 and up. Check out photos from last year!
Super Hero Training Camp: Discover your super powers, learn super hero self defenses, compete in team challenges, and go on a team super hero quest at the end of the day. All Super Heroes will also learn important skills in verbal and physical self defense, and practice dealing with bullying behavior so they can return to school with confidence! Camps available for ages 5 and up. See photos from last year’s Super Hero Training Camp!
Combat Sparring Clinic: Learn combat sparring techniques and participate on a team combat sparring challenge. Students must wear all protective sparring gear and bring a combat stick. Combat sticks are available for purchase at a discounted rate with camp registration. Camps are available for ages 5 and up. See photos from last year’s Combat Sparring Clinics.
